A lovely smooth whisky just bottled as an 18yo. Sampled at The Hague. Has all the typical characteristics of our lowland malt. A really nice dram.

BOURBON MATURED
16YO single malt distillery label

Strength - 46%

This whisky has matured for 16 years in a high quality bourbon cask bottled at strength 46%abv and is a rich golden colour.

Colour: Rich golden
Nose: aromatic, firm, rich. Apricot, citrus fruits. Pepper & butter toffee.
Taste: Smooth, oily. Grassy, lemony. Fruity - apple, pear. White flowers, cut grass.
Finish: Lingering, liquorice. Hints of melon, red fruits - raspberry, strawberry. Citrus.

NB We have no more stock of 15yo @ 40% but we are now offering 18yo @ 40%

Colour: white wine.
Nose: light but not weak at all at first sniff, extremely citrusy and quite mashy as well. Gets a little more flowery and even vanilla but it’s the lemony freshness that prevails .
Palate: not too bold of course but perfectly balanced, with again this huge lemon as well as hints of salt.
Finish: rather long, still lemony but also with a little candy sugar and touches of bubblegum. A perfect summer malt.

The first impression on the nose of this lightly peated whisky is of a slight smokiness and then just a drop of peat coming through on the palate as it mingles subtley with the traditional lowland flavours.
