ORKNEY RUGBY FC VISIT TO BLADNOCH PARK
In true `spirit` of the game. Orkney presented a bottle of 12 year Highland Park to the home team and Newton Stewart RFC presented a bottle of ` Bladnoch ` to the Orkney boys. |
Some photos from the weekend visit of Orkney Rugby FC to Bladnoch Park v Newton Stewart RFC . Orkney RFC gathered together on Friday night in Kirkwall Orkney, boarded the midnight ferry to Aberdeen arriving in Aberdeen at 7am Saturday morning . A coach trip of 240 miles followed arriving at the Distillery at 1pm .
They lost 66 - 17, a score which flattered the home side.... A visit to the Bladnoch Inn for Audrey`s pie and beans washed down with a couple of pints of local ale , some good crack, and back on the coach to Thurso , (nine hour trip) and into a hotel pre booked. Sunday morning and a short trip to Scrabster , they caught the midday ferry to Stromness, back on the mainland of Orkney. Captain of the team Andy McGill had yet another ferry to make back to his home on another smaller island of the mainland , only this time its his own small craft he sails back! and home. |
