Hi there, Ladies (?) & Gentlemen!
Just wanted to say "Hello World!" to all other members: the next next (next?) German is here. When lookin'round I wonder if there are any Scottish here?
About me: I'm an IT Systems Engineer from South-Western Germany, Stuttgart of age 34. My interests -next to my daughter and wife- are Whisky (mostly from Islay) and Bordeaux (PP94+). I am both a Whisky lover and collector. At home I have about 120 bottles of different Whiskies; about 40 are currently open for my friends and me. After completing Port Ellen (annual releases and Provenance) my focus is tuned to Kilchoman and Ardbeg at the moment.
Best Regards, Get_Stuffed

Hehe....from the sounds of your holibobs I think you did 'get stuffed' I just love the thought of being in a busy place with 'get_stuffed' and having to shout on him..."oi...get_stuffed" and then waiting to see the reactions

But back to whisky:
My alltime favourite is Lagavulin 21yo. It's followed by a Port Ellen, bottled for the Signatory Cask Strength series (Cask No #232, 1983). My "daily" rockers are Ardbeg Uigeadail and Laphroaig Original Cask Strength.
What about you guys?

Get Stuffed,
I am jealous of your stash of whiskies. I would have been on restriction long ago if I tried to accumulate that many!
As one of our fellow members states in his tagline, "I don't collect whisky, I'm just behind in drinking".
Although my taste in whisky tends toward Islay and finely sherried whisky, I also have a taste for wine, but my preference has a tendancy toward Italian (I lived there for 10 years) and for the finer Spanish and Portugese varieties. My French affection is for the Alsace and Bandol region. I really like the Cremant's from Alsace, and the Rose's from Bandol. Great summer wines. I save my whisky mostly for the colder months. Since moving to Partenkirchen two years ago, I have started drinking Wiesbier, something I hardly ever drank prior to moving to Germany, other than Guinness.
