Raymond, I would have thought a forum bottling of a 12yo Laphroaig would sell very well, especially as their are very few indie bottlings around

Laphroaig rarely goes wrong. Much like Caol Ila in fact, just that there are less Laphroaig bottlings around.

Hi all,
Been watching a bottle of Lidl’s Maxwell 28 year old listed on Ebay by someone in Burnley, Lancashire. Talked it up rather well as rarity from his private personal collection. He had eight bidders and sold it for £62, not bad for a £30 bottle of Lidls finest, plus £10 for the postage. I may well follow his example with one of the three I have left !

Never had a bad Laphroaig, and only one really bad Caol Ila. I think Laphroaigs spirit has so overpowering palate, that it survives even weaker casks, but on downside it has tendency to coat everything.

Penderyn abuses laphroaig's tendancy to coat everything by buying their old barrels and sticking their unpeated spirit in it to give a "peated" whisky. I cant wait to get my hands on the forum bottling caol ila I have stuck at work (with me stuck at home in the snow \:\( )

I am plannig a trip to Germany and took a quick look at the wisky

The Maxwell 28 yr old single malt is back in stock at £34.99

It is £5 more than last year but still good value. It is a release of 3600 bottles. I wonder whether it is from a new batch or from last years stock. Needless to say Sant has slipped one in under the radar under the xmas tree!

Hey Raymond,

I really wonder what happened to the Laphroig - is it still in the warehouse or did I miss it in the forum shop?

Slainte and a happy new year!!!
